'I think what I wanted to do was to highlight how similar it feels to be both inside and outside during lockdown.
The general feeling of isolation is obvious, even when we're outside and near others we are still isolated from them.
There's an expectation for stillness as we've been forced to 'slow down', but it doesn't feel that way.
The anxious mind is overflowing and moving constantly, spring is here and the animals are singing, screaming and doing what they do, the media is a mess and the governments fucked as usual.
I'm finding there's an inescapable chaos either side of the window, whether its in joy and new life or dread and despair - that's what I've tried to convey in these two pieces.
The compositions are similar, but the sonic materials different.
Both are made up of field recordings, one of domestic recordings the other in the field, and both attempt to convey this feeling of chaotic stillness.

Equipment used: Various tape recorders, iPhone, harmonica, field recordings, a mixer, overdrive pedal and digital recorder.'
